2020 Woodworks was founded in January of 2020 by Pacific Northwest-Based Craftsman, Designer and Drummer, Todd Hennig after co-owning and operating Portland Area Custom Furniture Outfit, Slab Rats Designs with his friend Andy since 2014. Hennig recently set out on his own in order to devote more time and energy to designing and crafting classic, one-of-a kind pieces that offer class, function, elegance and durability to last a lifetime in any home or business. The "2020 Woodworks" Company Name is predicated upon the concept of clear vision, honest intention and a hyper-concentrated attention to detail.
2020 Woodworks showcases some of the finest woods that the beautiful Pacific Northwest has to offer. We are fortunate to live in such a beautiful area with such rich, old growth trees, and do everything possible to allow that to show through the sustainably-sourced materials that are featured in our pieces. From the highly-figured Oregon black walnut to beautiful big leaf maple to 100+ year old reclaimed douglas fir, every board and live edge slab is hand-picked by me and meticulously processed and laid out in order to highlight the very best and most unique qualities that it has to offer.
I pour 150% of myself into each build and no small detail is ever overlooked. No 2 furniture pieces that I create will ever be exactly the same and I would not have it any other way. My passion and ridiculously high standard for each piece demonstrates no less than if I were building it for my very own family. Every step of the process from order to delivery is handled by me from design, to sourcing the materials, to layout, to building and even to finishing. When I am not creating in the workshop, my focus falls on being the best husband, father to 2 beautiful daughters and drummer that I can be.
